lyrics
Simple things so complicated
Sometimes loving’s so overrated
If there’s no room for a drama queen then
Blow out the candles for my sweet sixteen
Over the hills and far away
We could be forever
This was always meant to be a happy memory
And all it came down to was Neapolitan
Cause everytime it falls out the bottom
Falls out the bottom and I wanna cry
Called up a friend for an inside job
And he just passed me by
So ya fill up the tank
Fill up the tank
Feel everything
Feel everything
and don't get so far
Can you go away now ‘
Everytime I find a little butterfly
you know I wanna shake it all over
In your eyes I can see
the chip upon my shoulder, I’m getting older
But If there's no room for, a drama queen then
Blow out my candles for my sweet sixteen
This was always meant to be a happy memory
And all it came down to was Neapolitan
Cause everytime it falls out the bottom
Falls out the bottom and I wanna cry
Called up a friend for an inside job
And he just passed me by
So ya fill up the tank
Fill up the tank
Feel everything
Feel everything
and don't get so far
Can you go away now
This was always meant to be a happy memory
I family’d once or twice
But I think it’s not meant to be
I stayed up all night to find that
In the morning you lose
In the morning you lose your mind
Cause everytime it falls out the bottom
Falls out the bottom and I wanna cry
I called up a friend for an inside job
and he just passed me by
And I’m trying to get home I’m
Tryna, tryna, tryna get home
Well maybe all my life
And it’s gonna take a little bit longer
Vanilla baby on my shoulder
Every time it falls out the bottom
It falls out the bottom
Falls out the bottom
And I wanna
I want want want to cry
And I wanna
*****
I wanna cry
For Neapolitan
Opener absolutely rips. Falls into the ranks of tracks like “Dance” by ESG, “Eisbaer” by Grauzone, “Damaged Goods” by Gang of Four or like the album description says Kleenex. This is some really good stuff. Favorite song is the opener but dedicate “Blue” to my friend Blue who lost her life at 22, she would have loved this album. TheBloodofChrist

Alvvays has always been great, but with this album they took it to the next level. Every one of these songs is lodged in my brain now, permanently (in a good way). s. moxley
